District Happenings and God's Leadings (Fall to Winter 2022)

Fall and Winter Decorations.  All three churches had decorations that were so tastefully done at each church and an atmosphere of thanksgiving (especially for Jesus) as well as a focus on the peace of Christ (because He came to be WITH us) permeated the congregations this year.  Here are some pictures to enjoy.

Special Guest Speaker at Canyonville: One other special happening this Fall was the baptism of Elliot Walden by retired Union College professor (who was one of the main professors for Pastor Miller), Elder Bob Fetrick.  Elder Fetrick shared a message from God's Word and baptized Elliot Walden.  I was glad to catch up with him during the fellowship meal this October (see gallery pictures below the next entry).

Disciplemakers 101: Another happening that involved the district churches (Canyonville, Myrtle Creek and Winston) as well as members from Roseburg Better Life and Roseburg TurningPoint churches was Disciplemakers 101.  Bible worker Josephine Kelly, retired Pastor Ken Williams, local Elder Tom Graham and Canyoyonville Pastor Murray Miller all presented on ways to share Jesus with others.  Through the power of a personal testimony/Gospel Presentation, to interacting and mingling, to giving Bible studies and presenting testing truths from God's Word that uplift Jesus, this was a well-attended and beneficial series of Sabbath afternoon presentations for all who came.  The spiritual components have laid a foundation for the health components that will be coming in January (14 and 22).  Plan now to attend the next segments.  Class size is limited and participants must sign up.

Winston Food Collection: Members of the Winston Church distributed bags to homes in the community and collected a LOT of food to organize and distribute to those in need of it.  Some of this food was placed below the three trees in the entryway (foyer), and the rest was taken to the Fellowship Hall to be organized for distribution.  Members even made gift baskets to distribute to the Winston Police and City Hall.

More could be shared, but it is clear that there has been a LOT happening around the district.  To read more about the happenings, feel free to get a copy of the latest Glad Tidings district newsletter. Truly He CAN direct our paths as we trust His leading (Proverbs 3:5-6).  May He continue to bless and lead in the coming year just as He has led in the past!!
